The PVA TePla history

 




The development of vacuum technology goes back to the mid of nineteenth century. Famous entrepreneurs like Ernst Leybold and Wilhelm Carl Heraeus established the industrial basis for these technologies. The roots of PVA TePla traces back to that tradition.



1991 - Formation of
PVA-Pfeiffer Vakuum Anlagenbau GmbH



Management Buy Out and formation

Formation of PVA-Pfeiffer Vakuum Anlagenbau GmbH (subsequent: PVA Vakuum Anlagenbau GmbH) by management buy out. The main focus is the construction of systems for the production of material using high temperature, vacuum and pressure.

  


1999 - Formation of
subsidiaries / Going public



Formation of PVA Vakuum-Anlagenbau Jena GmbH in Jena for the building up of additional production capacities.

Formation of Crystal Growing Systems (CGS) GmbH as a spin off from Leybold Systems. The company is focussing on the construction of crystal growing systems for the semiconductor industry.

IPO of TePla AG at the stock exchange in Frankfurt. TePla AG develops, produces and sells innovative plasma systems for the semiconductor industry and laser based metrology systems.

  


2000 - Foundation of
brazing centers in Asslar and Jena

Foundation of the brazing centers in Asslar
and Jena.

Foundation of the US-based PVA USA Corp. (Afterward merged to PVA TePla America, Inc.).

  


2002 -
PVA und TePla verschmelzen



Fusion

PVA Vakuum Anlagenbau GmbH and TePla AG merge to PVA TePla AG by a Reverse IPO, Headquarter in Asslar.

Foundation of PVA Löt- und Werkstofftechnik GmbH (LWT). The company inherit the brazing and heat treatment activities of the parent company.


  


2003 -
Merger in the USA



Merger

Merger of PVA USA and TePLa America to PVA TePla America Inc.

  


2004 - Take over and foundation:
Danmark and China



Take over and foundation

Take over of floatzone crystall growing activities of the Danish company Haldor Topsoe.

Foundation of Xi´an HuaDe CGS Ltd., a joint venture with the Technical University of Xi´an (TUX).


  


2005 -
Opening



Opening service and sales office

Opening of a service and sales office in Beijing.
  


2006 -
Take over Plasma Technik Grün GmbH



Take over Plasma Technik Grün GmbH

Take over of the business of Plasma Technik Grün. The company is focussing on the construction of systems for plasma nitriding of surfaces.
  


2007 -
Take over KSI Group



Take over KSI Group

Take over of the KSI Group, specialized on the production of systems for the non destructive ultrasonic inspection of high-tech materials; subsequent change of name to PVA TePla Analytical Systems GmbH.
  


2008 -
PVA TePla moves to Wettenberg



New headquarter Wettenberg

PVA TePla abandones ist headquarter and production site in Asslar and moves to Wettenberg/Giessen.
  


2009 -
Restructuring of the divisions



Restructing

The divisions of the company are restructured. The new divisions are now: Industrial Systems, Semiconductor Systems and Solar Systems
